Steyning CC captain Ed Lamb has saluted the importance of overseas bowler Matheesha Ranasinghe in their strong finish to the season.
Sri Lankan Ranasinghe passed 50 league wickets for the season with figures of 4-45 in the final game against Slinfold on Saturday, as Steyning put the seal on a third place finish in Division 3 West of the Sussex Cricket League.
And Lamb was happy with his overall contribution.
“He has been fantastic,” Lamb enthused. “It is not just his ability to take wickets, he is also able to bowl very economical spells, it has worked really well and he has always tied up an end. He has been a key player for us and of course can smash a few with the bat.”
