Pulborough new boy tipped to shine

PULBOROUGH skipper Rohit Jagota admits losing Kuldeep Rawat wasn’t ideal, but is sure replacement Harvir Baidwan can become their new star bowler.

Rawat’s seven wicket haul in the defeat to Horsham two weekends ago was his final game for the Premier Division club after securing a new job back in India, but Jagota is confident Baidwan, a close friend of the skipper, can do just as well for the club.

He said: “Kuldeep did brilliantly for us this season, and last season, so it was a shame to see him go, but Baidwan is also a very good bowler.

“I’ve known him for a long time and I’m confident he can be just as good as Kuldeep.”

Baidwan took two wickets in Pulborough’s draw with Three Bridges this weekend and Jagota was pleased with his new bowlers efforts.

He added: “He did very well this weekend. He took two wickets and looked confident with the ball. He took two very good wickets and will only get better from here.”
