The PROBIZ County Ground to host NatWest Women’s t20 International

Sussex CCC have announced that they will be hosting an England Women’s NatWest t20 International against the West Indies at The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove, this season.

England will be facing the Windies in late summer as preparation for the ICC World Twenty20 and will be entertaining the tourists at Hove on Saturday 15th September.

The match will be the 4th NatWest Women’s t20 International of the series following matches at the Emirates ICG in Durham, Old Trafford, and Northampton. The 5th match also takes place in Sussex, at Arundel.

The England Women’s team last played at The PROBIZ in 2010 when they hosted New Zealand prior to Sussex Sharks’ clash with Middlesex Panthers, and Sussex can boast several players in the England setup who could be selected to perform on home turf including Sarah Taylor, Arran Brindle, Holly Colvin and Georgia Elwiss.

Clare Connor, ECB Head of Women’s Cricket and former Sussex and England Women’s captain said, “It will be great to end the NatWest Women’s Twenty20 Series against West Indies down in Sussex with matches at Hove and Arundel.

“I hope the Sussex cricket followers show their customary support for the England team, currently ranked number one in the world, and specifically for the Sussex players who are likely to be in that England squad.

“It will be a fitting end to a busy summer and great preparation for the ICC World Twenty20 just a couple of weeks later.”

With the West Indies men’s team playing at the ground in early May in a three-day fixture, it is an apt way to end what surely will be another exciting season of action at The PROBIZ.

The match on Saturday 15th September will begin at 2.00pm, whilst the game at Arundel takes place the next day.
