Roffey batted consistently throughout the order with Richard Bailey and Callum Jeal making useful contributions, and only Josh Britton who took 2-20 from his three overs causing any problems as they finished on 96-3.
When Roffey dismissed the hard-hitting Arden Foster-Spink cheaply, they became favourites. But Josh Britton with 22 not out, and later Harry Koniotes (14 not out) set the match up for an exciting finish.
With scores level with one ball left, Lindfield attempted a suicidal run to the ‘keeper and were run out as the match was tied.
Earlier Roffey were beaten by Three Bridges despite a valiant fight-back from Jamie Atkins with an unbeaten knock of 41. James Pearce with 11 gave able assistance.
Three Bridges completed a clean sweep by also beating Lindfield.
Week Six of the Under-14 league saw Barns Green take on Three Bridges. Having been put in, Barns Green made a slow start, with Oli Brown’s first over maiden creating an early panicky run out.
Ellie Monk and Tom Haynes repaired the situation, allowing James Powell to hit some late blows to give Barns Green an outside chance finishing on 89-5.
For Three Bridges, Milo Price went early, but Alfie Slark and Nathan Amin both retired, exposing the middle order, who all struggled against Green’s bowling, and it was left to Alfie and Nathan to secure Bridges the win with three overs to spare.
West Chiltington were also awarded a win over Lindfield who conceded.
