HENFIELD Cricket Club paid fitting tribute to the memory of Mark Smith as all three teams won on Saturday.
The first XI beat Littlehampton by two wickets, the second XI defeated Littlehampton seconds, and the third XI beat Three Bridges sixths.
The sudden death of Mark, aged 49, last week after a match against Arundel, left the Sussex cricket community in shock, and a minute’s silence was observed at grounds across the county on Saturday. And fittingly, his son Anthony took five wickets to guide the seconds to victory.
First XI skipper Brett Moore said: “It was funny the way it worked out, all three sides played fantastically well. “It was a nice tribute, not just from our teams but from other grounds.”
