HORSHAM skipper Craig Gallagher was full of praise for his players after a fine team performance gave them a maximum points victory over Three Bridges on Saturday.
Matt Henry and Dev Endersby were the star men with the ball. New Zealand fast bowler Henry took three early wickets before Sussex youngster Endersby weighed in with a five wicket haul, including three in one stunning over as Bridges were dismissed for 193. Danny Alderman’s 82 was by far the highlight of the visitor’s total.
In reply it was another Sussex youngster, Owain Jones, who came to the fore with 72 runs from 65 balls, and good knocks from James Johnson (35) and Endersby (37) saw Horsham cruise to their target in 37.2 overs to seal a win which moves them to third in the table.
Gallagher said: “I’m really proud of the boys today, it was a fantastic effort. We came into it a bowler short but then Matt Henry came in first session (and it was) the best spell of upfront bowling I’ve seen in a long time. He bowled really well, got us into the game and Dev backed him up from the other end.
“The fielding was also nice and tight which was something I asked the boys to do and we were buzzing and just keeping the tempo up.
“Then after drinks Dev came on and that over, taking three wickets got us right in the game. To be fair to them Danny batted well but Dev came back again and cleaned them up.
“Dev, with five wickets bowled really really well and batted well also and so did OJ (Jones). He came in an absolutely gunned it, it was really good batting and took the game away from them.
“I’m really pleased and it’s onto Pulborough next week.”
