Former Roffey colt Taylor helps England open with Ashes victory in Australia

England bowled out their hosts for 123 on the final day to win by 61 runs, earning them six points in the multi-format series.

For once former Roffey colt Taylor - one of the stars of the team - did not perform with the bat, scoring just one run batting at three as England were all out for 201 in the first innings.

Having then bowled Australia out for 207, Taylor, up to two was out for a duck, though scores down the order saw them recover to 190 all out.

Australia began the day needing 185 for victory, but they were bowled out before lunch, Sussex wicketkeeper Taylor with two catches and one important stumping.

England now only need to win two of the six limited-overs games remaining to hold onto the Ashes trophy.
