Having wrapped up th e league title last week and with it a place in Division Two for next season, Billingshurst were defeated on the season’s final day.
The loss was only the second in 18 league fixtures this season, and came against Stirlands, who finished second in the table having lost out to Billingshurst in the race for promotion.
Billingshurst captain Ben Williams said: “It was a weird game. We did try to win the game but at times I think we let it slip a bit and were quite relaxed.
“They are a very good team, but we beat them when it mattered (earlier in the season).”
However, Stirlands recovered some pride with Saturday’s comfortable victory.
Stirlands elected to bat and finished on a strong 214-8, with Chris May (58) and Leon Fourie (53) passing the half-century mark.
In reply, Billingshurst never looked like chasing the score, and were all out for 128.
