Williams revealed: “It was a good solid bowling performance with wickets taken by five bowlers.

“Consistent performances by our bowlers throughout the season won us promotion.”

With one more game to play at Ifield in Crawley this Saturday, Billingshurst have a chance to win the Division two title if they can win their final game.

Williams added: “We are going to play in the Sussex Premier League for the first time in our history. It was lovely to host the Sussex game at our club on Sunday by way of a celebration. The club owes this reward to the hard work of Jim Burroughs and Chris Shambrook over the years.”
