Barns Green and West Chiltington enjoyed mixed fortunes in the latest round of fixtures in the Identilam Colts under-12s cricket league.

In the opening match at Tanbridge House School, Greg Monk (23 not out) and Alfie Burchfield (20 not out) led the way as Barns Green compiled 101-2, despite the early dismissal of James Christer by Archie Fairclough-Wood. Early wickets rocked the Chilt reply, and although Fairclough-Wood scored 33 with support from Lauren Fisher, Chilt fell short on 81-6.

The Green found the going slightly tougher against a rampant Three Bridges. James Russell, Joe Walker, Arran Brown and Harry Bryant all retired as Bridges closed on 128-0, thanks in part to some good running between the wicket. Connor Blanchard provided some power-hitting in Green’s reply, but holed out into the balcony as Brown took 3-7 and Green reached 41-6.

West Chilt were next to feel Bridges’ power, and despite taking wickets could not prevent them from amassing 151-3, the reply petered out to 32-6.
