Crawley prepares for boxing legend Alan Minter's funeral

Alan Minter's funeral takes place on Friday - and you can say goodbye to mthe former World Champion boxer.

The funeral service will be a private affair but the Crawley public can say goodbye when a cortège will pass through Crawley High Street at 12.35pm.

Peter Hopcraft posted on the Crawley Amateur Boxing Club Facebook page: "Our favourite Son, Olympian and former British, European and undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World Alan Minter will be laid to rest this Friday 9th October.

"The funeral will be a private affair with strictly limited numbers. So, the family have arranged for the cortège to pass through Crawley High Street at 1235hrs so that people can gather to show their respect. If you can get there, please do!!!

"R. I. P. Alan, you put us on the map."
