Basketball: Holbrook Allstars extend winning streak
Fresh from their Sussex Cup semi final heroics, Holbrook Allstars Basketball Club claimed an impressive 63-49 league win at Brighton Phoenix Flames.
Magda Bielicka led the way with 17 points along with Sarah Storey (14 points) after Holbrook went 6-0 down, while Sophie Tunnicliffe converted back-to-back baskets before Flames took a three point lead into the second quarter.
In a heavy scoring second period, Storey scored three successive baskets while Izi Tunnicliffe finished off an outstanding move to tie the scores 29-29 at half time. Emma Bush (12 points) was in outstanding form in the third quarter as the Allstars went on a 16-4 run to lead 48-41. And with Sarah Maloney dominant in defence, the Holbrook team closed out the win in the fourth.
