I WENT to see HAODS’ production of The Mikado at the Capitol Theatre in Horsham on Friday and had a wonderful evening.
The whole production, from the beautifully constructed scenery and colourful costumes to the hugely talented cast, was exceptional.
I particularly loved the references to Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre (and its possible closure) and Horsham District Council which were liberally and expertly slotted in throughout the performance.
The audience obviously loved them too. There were gales of laughter at every mention of the council and its doings.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all. Let’s hope HAODS can continue their marvellous work at their purpose-built facilities at the leisure centre.
It would be a travesty if this wonderful amateur operatic and dramatic society had to close down after so many years of giving such pleasure to the local community. Let’s all hope that never happens.
