Of course no such competition exists but if such did, and sponsored by one of our great Horsham restaurants (aren’t we lucky!), I would gladly pay top price for my meal to dine near and support those with the powers of perception such as Dr Geoffrey Richardson (regarding his letter confirming and congratulating Paul Kornycky’s analysis of a previous council’s ability to negotiate, comparing same with the current cabal’s pathetic efforts - judging by their results to achieve acceptable outcomes for the benefit of residents, ie. voters).
Equally we can highlight the excellent analysis and appraisal of the EU membership, or otherwise, penned by Toby Brothers.
In both instances there appears to be a strong theme of our negotiators entering into discussions without that vital strength of character and belief in their/our case.
Whether one is in discussions with the overpowering bureaucracy of the EU or a comparatively financially heavyweight developer it is essential to bear in mind they are not a conquering army... and the other side need to be aware we will not be browbeaten or overwhelmed.
Negotiating is more than an art or test of intellect, it is also dependent on your personal strengths and self-belief.
Always remember - the other side want a result for their gain, and we do not have to give without a form of quid pro quo that suits us.
In fact I hold both letters in such high esteem that I would love to see both printed in large bold letters and delivered to every household in the District.
