I would like to express my personal thanks to all the caring people of Steyning who, on a cold Saturday afternoon turned out to support the ‘Care for the NHS’ campaign.
Labour Party CLP members from Arundel & South Downs were out in numbers raising awareness of the plight of NHS Nationwide and offering a petition for signature of their support.
This was very well supported.
Most people spoken to, showed a great knowledge of NHS plight and were bewildered The Autumn Statement of last week made no mention of this. They, in general seemed to feel that agreeing with the renovation of ‘stately homes’, it had a slightly lower priority than supporting Consultants, Doctors and Nurses to get waiting time reduced for patients and prioritising funding to areas of the Service where it is needed most.
Again thank you Steyning and thank you to the Labour Party Members who #careforthenhs.
