LETTER: Residents will be complaining

Nearly half the councillors at last week’s council meeting were unhappy about being asked to approve a report in which up-to-date housing figures were absent, despite their being available from the government since February.

One councillor who is well-respected indicated that there was a risk that the public (which had been very perceptive in the two-minute statements made at the outset of the debate) might raise a formal complaint about the irregularity of requiring councillors to approve something that was missing critical detail.

Councillors can be assured the residents will be formally complaining.
