By fulfilling their ‘Duty to Co-operate’, both Horsham and Crawley Planning teams were pivotal in securing Ifield Brook Meadows as a Local Green Space - thus giving this ‘hidden gem’ protection from developers in the future.
St Margaret’s Village Church, nestled within the meadows, forms the geographical centre of this ancient Parish - which dates back to the 13th century over 750 years ago.
Our local heritage is a strange thing. We have a responsibility for its preservation, but it never quite belongs to us.
We can cherish our history in the present, but then we must pass it on for future generations to enjoy.
The Parish of Ifield is a case in point. Many past generations have loved and cared for it - especially its ancient church and its surrounds. Now it’s our turn.
