As June 23rd approaches most of the pros and cons of Brexit have been aired.
There have been extravagant guesses as to the deleterious financial effects but the future is unknowable and economists have repeatedly demonstrated their inability to forecast accurately.
There seems little to choose between the immediate effects of leaving or staying; any consequences should be short lasting and we are perfectly able to look after ourselves.
The EU is in economic turmoil and there seems no point in staying on a sinking ship.
Politically there seem to be advantages in leaving as we would regain our sovereignty and control of our borders to counter the risk of uncontrolled migration.
The stated aim of the EU is ever closer integration which Germany, as the strongest industrial nation, would dominate.
Not long ago many thousands of our fellow countrymen died in order to protect our independence; a point worth remembering when voting in the referendum.
