LETTER: Modern facilities needed for future

As a resident of Horsham of more than 30 years I am horrified that the Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre is considered expendable in favour of retail development.

Yes, the centre is well past its sell-by date but is much better for the increasing population than nothing, or greatly reduced facilities.

In short what is really needed is a new larger modern facility that will complement the new town shopping areas that so much has been spent on.

The increasing population must be given the recreational/sports opportunities that a forward-thinking council would consider an attraction to the new residents to keep this town healthy and vibrant for years to come.
