LETTER: Mitigate the inconvenience

I have no doubt that the proposed fortnightly general bin collections will be imposed on Horsham residents however much public opinion there is against it.

We are a small family of two adults and a teenager – we recycle as much as possible and our recycling bin is full almost to overflowing by the time it is collected every other week.

At the same time our smaller general rubbish bin is also completely full each week so I guess I will be taking a weekly visit to the refuse tip along with many other people, where there will no doubt be queues to get in because of the reductions in opening times already in place.

If the council is set on this scheme could they at least mitigate the inconvenience by providing households with the larger sized bins already in use for recycling and garden refuse. Has anyone on the council thought of that or is it too simple?
