LETTER: Group lifeline

The Macular Society has run a very successful support group for people who are living with Macular Degeneration (Central Vision Loss – the largest cause of sight loss in the UK), in Haywards Heath for many years.

This group is a lifeline for many, who are worried about their condition, who want to find out more and who want to meet others who also have the condition. The group meets at the Town Hall in Boltro Road, four times a year from 2pm to 4pm.

The meetings include interesting speakers and provides an opportunity to chat over tea and biscuits. Transport is available too.

At the end of the year the group leaders are sadly going to step down due to family commitments.

We are now looking for someone new who has two hours every other month, (with some time for admin and phone calls), to spare.

Someone who wants to help others, who perhaps has a family member with the condition, or perhaps has never heard of it before. You will be supported in your role by committee members and the regional manager. If you would like to find out more please call me on 01360 644908.

STELLA BLACK

Regional manager (London and South East), Boltro Road, Haywards Heath
