LETTER: Gatwick prestige remains intact

It’s Heathrow for a new runway (‘Gatwick still very much in the race’, WSCT Horsham front page, July 2), so the prestige of having ‘the world’s best one-runway airport in the country’ - on our doorstep - still remains intact.

But I had a little chuckle at the reaction of Stewart Wingate, chief executive of Gatwick’s American owners: “We are still very much in the race”

Why the chuckle?

Because Mr Wingate’s words reminded of ‘The Black Knight’ sketch in ‘Monty Python and The Holy Grail’.

Do you remember it?
