LETTER: Gatwick bad for some business

Gatwick expansion might be good for some businesses, but it would be detrimental to others.

The South East has low levels of unemployment. Gatwick expansion would create a burgeoning demand for additional labour. This would force up the wage bills for established Sussex businesses, thus making it harder for them to compete.

In addition, road links to the Midlands and North are inadequate south of London already. The pressure on existing infrastructure from another runway at Gatwick would present additional logistical challenges for Sussex businesses wanting to sell products and services throughout the UK.
