LETTER: Campaigning for life skills

We are Year 10 students at Millais School and we are taking citizenship for GSCE.

Currently, as part of our coursework, we are campaigning to make PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, Education) or Life Skills, compulsory in all secondary schools across England. In our opinion, we think that PSHE is a vital topic and that all secondary schools should include it in their curriculum.

In our secondary school, PSHE is a compulsory subject for all years. However, this isn’t the case for all secondary schools.

In theses lessons we learn how to cope with situations which may arise later on in life.

For example - relationships, money, careers, self-esteem, etc.

We also learn how young people should support themselves, physically and mentally, after they’ve left school and home.

Your support is crucial and we would really appreciate it if you could follow our social media accounts:

Thank you.
