On page 35 of the West Sussex County Times of March 20th a bold headline told us that nearly one thousand potholes have been filled this year. Very good news!
However, the column following gives the even more staggering figure of ten thousand having been repaired by West Sussex County Council. Perhaps there are now only one hundred thousand potholes awaiting treatment.
As the most common shape of a pothole is ‘0’, I guess another one has crept in - as they do!
