LETTER: Action needed over potholes

I would like to enter my nomination to name a more pothole-ridden road (Martin Adams - letters April 14th.)

I would nominate - Nuthurst Road, between Monks Gate and Maplehurst.

This road is plagued with potholes along the entire length. The Highways authority is aware, the holes have to date been marked with white paint on, now four occasions, the latest markings fast fading.

This road acts as a run through to the A272, and is also en route to a school, as bus route, and a favoured route for cyclists.

Surely if the agency has marked them, it is fully aware, and any resulting damage, or injury incurred shall be liable to compensation.

I personally have reported them on three occasions, but to no avail. I do regularly travel this route, so am aware of their location, and try to avoid, which is in many areas rather difficult especially if traffic is coming in the opposite direction.

So I would urge someone to take prompt action!
