LETTER: A local history of the Great War

We are undertaking a research project to look at how the First World War affected the residents of Barns Green and Itchingfield, both the men who served in the military and the men and women at home.

We are appealing for anyone who had family living here (Barns Green, Itchingfield or Christ’s Hospital) in the first half of the 20th century, to please get in touch with us.

We may already know something about a family which today’s descendants may be unaware of, but more importantly someone may have some family papers, memorabilia, or family stories which would give the research we are doing a really personal touch.

We are planning to publish a book and hold an exhibition at Barns Green Village Hall later this year so any items would be most welcome for display and to reproduce in the book.

We look forward to hearing from you.
