As a bed and breakfast provider in Amberley I am very aware of the number of people using the South Downs Way and the importance of amenities on route.
My B&B is fully booked over the summer months and has a steady stream of guests throughout the year.
My guests are surprised and appalled that such a convenient and historic facility, within a National Park and in such a lovely village, is under threat from developers.
The Black Horse is ideally placed for walkers and visitors to Amberley and it is part of the historic centre of one of the most beautiful villages on the South Downs Way. Under the right management The Black Horse cannot fail to be profitable.
It would be a huge loss to the village, to the South Downs National Park and tourism in West Sussex to lose this facility.
Also, Amberley is a REAL village community of all age groups and we all work hard to keep it that way.
The Black Horse is part of our vibrant community and it has been a regular meeting place for locals for many years - we are all affected by its absence.
