The sudden closure of the Black Horse has adversely affected the residents of Amberley, its shop and the many visitors to the area alike. The loss of a valuable amenity such as a centrally-located village pub is surely not to be accepted, or encouraged.
Under new management many of us would return. A reputation for a pub with good food would be yet another draw to this renowned National Park, South Downs Way and picturesque village. Such a combination has proved successful in smaller communities in the area.
In the past 30 years Amberley has successfully fought against proposals regarding the Wildbrooks, now a RSPB wildlife reserve, the village school and the shop, all of which are part of what makes this village sought-after.
We are firmly committed to saving this latest challenge to our village life.
