Woman released after schoolboy injured in Broadbridge Heath Tesco crash

A woman who was arrested after a schoolboy was injured in a crash outside Tesco in Broadbridge Heath has been released under investigation.

Police said the 13-year-old was riding his bike when he was involved in a collision with a car outside the supermarket in Wickhurst Lane yesterday morning (October 10).

The boy was treated at the scene before being taken to East Surrey Hospital for further checks.

Officers said his injuries were not thought to be serious and he has since been released from hospital.

Police said the car drove off without supplying any details. It was later discovered in Charlwood Road, Crawley.

A 41-year-old woman, from Crawley, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision, no insurance, no driving licence, and possession of cannabis, officers added. They confirmed she had since been released under investigation.
