RAIL passengers were left frustrated and stunned when police boarded a train and pinned a woman behaving in an anti-social manner to the ground.
Annabella Landsberg, 43, of Clifton Road, Worthing, was arrested on board the 11.17pm Southern service from London Victoria to Chichester shortly before 1am on Sunday, and was subsequently charged with a railway byelaw offence.
The train was delayed by around 25 minutes at Lancing railway station as officers boarded and detained Landsberg.
Among the passengers in the affected carriage were revellers returning home from Brighton Pride as well as a couple returning from holiday.
One passenger said: “I’ve never seen anything like that on a train I’ve been travelling on before. To be honest, it was just a very frustrating thing to happen when you’re so close to home and keen to get into bed.”
Landsberg has been bailed to appear before Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 17.
