The blast of freezing air from Russia – dubbed the ‘Beast from the East 2’ due to its similarities to a similar cold snap in 2018 – has already left some parts of Sussex peppered with snow this morning.

The MetOffice has forecast sub-zero temperatures all day for the county and a 60 per cent chance of snow in some areas.
