Tomorrow it will remain cold with a maximum of 9degC but feeling much colder in the north-westerly wind.

Temperatures will creep upwards over the Bank Holiday weekend to around 13degC, but bringing in some breezy conditions.

The Met Office forecast for the start of May is: “It is expected to remain on the cold side for the start of May, although less cold than this week is likely to be.

“It will generally remain unsettled with many areas seeing a mix of sunshine and showers, these still wintry over some hills, and often accompanied by brisk winds.

“By the end of Bank Holiday Monday we could see a spell of wet and very windy weather moving over the UK, perhaps giving gales in the north-west.

“Conditions are then likely to remain changeable in the north, but drier and more settled in the south. Temperatures will start generally below average on the whole, with some overnight frosts still possible, especially in the north.

“We will see an upwards trend in temperatures as we head further into May.”
