WALES LIGHTNING STRIKE: Telford youth worker is one of two dead

One of the people who died in a lightning strike in Wales has been named as a youth worker, the BBC have reported.

Dyfed-Powys Police have named Jeremy Prescott, 51, from Telford, Shropshire, as one of the victims

Two people died after the incident on the Brecon Beacons, while two others were treated for injuries.

The County Times understands the other victim is a teacher at a local school.

The County Times is not publishing the victim’s name until it is formally confirmed by police.

Mr Prescott had worked for Telford and Wrekin Council for 14 years and was a part-time youth worker, according to the BBC.
