The July 14 event aimed to give the monthly market a new feel, with new stallholders, and activities for children.

“The market was a huge success with a great atmosphere,” said volunteer Emma Johnston.

“It looked amazing and people were leaving will full bags of essentials and goodies.

“We had some great new stalls - the olives were a real favourite - and it wasn’t just a market, people were saying it was an experience, with people sitting around the pond and up by the mobile coffee van socialising. We even had some doggie visitors.

“The craft space for little ones also came in very handy, with huge thanks to Marion and Reverend Clive Jenkins for organising this. Thank you also to Macmillian Cancer Support for assisting us with a ‘free cake with a drink offer’. This proved very popular!

“None of this would have been possible without our kind sponsors Fowlers Estate Agents, Keith, and The Three Crowns, Tim and Debbie.”

The market is held in the village hall from 9.30am to 12.30pm, on the second Thursday of every month, excluding January.
