VIDEO: Hundreds evacuated from Horsham’s Waitrose and John Lewis

Hundreds of staff and customers were evacuated from Horsham’s new Waitrose and John Lewis store this afternoon (Friday July 3).

Firefighters were called to the store in Albion Way at around 11.56am after a call was received stating there was a smell of smoke coming from the building.

Shoppers were promptly evacuated while crews from Horsham and Crawley investigated the incident.

However, there has been no report of a fire.

Staff and customers were allowed back into the store at around at 12.30pm.
