A car crashed into a wall following a pursuit near Ditchling Common, police said.
Officers said they pursued a car on the A23 near Pyecombe at about 12am on Thursday (July 28) after receiving a report the vehicle was suspected to be being driven without insurance.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers pursued the black Seat Leon and signalled for it to stop at the junction with the A273, which it did.
“However, it then made off at speed and continued onto the B2112 at Ditchling Common, where it lost control and left the carriageway.”
On Twitter, Sussex Roads Police said the car crashed into a wall in a garden.
The driver was detained and taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath with minor injuries, before being transferred to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Police said a 21-year-old man, from London, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving with no insurance, driving with no licence, drug-driving and failing to stop when ordered to do so by police.
