Tim Open only recently discovered that his late grandfather had been a prisoner-of-war in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Edward Miles Braddick, originally from London but who went on to live in Storrington and Coldwaltham, was a prisoner-of-war in Stalag 383 camp.
“It was never spoken about,” said Tim, aged 49.
He only found out before setting off for the Federation of Harley Davidson Super Rally that took place in Poland earlier this yea
According to Tim, his grandfather was sent to the notorious Nazi concentration camp for being rude to a German guard.
