A SLICE of £15,000 is on offer to community organisations across West Sussex following this year’s launch of the Hall and Woodhouse Community Chest, which is backed by this paper.
The independent family brewers, with around 200 pubs in the south, injected a huge £15,300 into the local community last year – boosting the coffers of 22 needy organisations.
The annual event is a chance for voluntary groups and charities to gain funds for everything from new equipment to training.
This year’s campaign was launched by Mark Woodhouse, Hall and Woodhouse’s chairman, at a special event in The Black Rabbit pub, in Arundel, on Wednesday (March 19).
Mark said: “We never cease to be humbled by how many great, worthy causes there are out there needing a helping hand.
“The Community Chest is all about local help for local people. It helps voluntary organisations at a time when they are probably struggling. So it’s just nice to help so many voluntary organisations who are doing so much good in their communities.”
Grants for between £300 and £3,000 can be requested via the application form.
