Horsham suffered yet more heartbreak in their Valentine’s Day clash with a 2-1 defeat away at Guernsey this afternoon.
The Hornets remain at the foot of the Ryman League South Division table as they fell to third consecutive defeat this afternoon.
It was a dream start for the hosts as they took the lead after just 17 seconds at Footes Lane when Marc McGrath scored after a brilliant pass from Liam Mahon.
Early in the second half, Guernsey doubled their lead to 2-0 through Dave Rihoy’s 50th-minute strike.
The struggling Hornets gave themselves a lifeline with just five minutes left as Tony Nwachukwu was felled in the box and picked himself up to convert from the spot.
But it was too little too late for Anthony Storey and Cliff Cant’s side as the hosts had done enough to clinch the three points.
