South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said three people were treated at the scene.

A spokesman said two of the patients were put on ‘longboards’ and were given neck braces as a precaution.

All three were fully conscious and able to leave their vehicles, the spokesman added.

They were taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton for further checks. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, SECAmb said.
