UPDATE: Shoppers evacuated from Horsham shopping centre

The public and shop staff left the building while firefighters investigated the cause of the alarm.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the automated fire alarm at 2pm.

It was ruled to be a false alarm caused by fumes from an electric heater.
