UPDATE: ‘No life-threatening injuries’ from Arundel crash

NEITHER of the two men taken to hospital after this morning’s collision near Arundel are thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries, police said.

The A284 London Road remains closed while emergency services deal with a head-on collision between two cars.

The accident happened just after 6am this morning, Wednesday, July 15, just north of the turning to Arundel town centre.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “The road has been closed between the A27 town centre roundabout and the A29 Whiteways roundabout and is expected to remain shut until at least 8.30am.

“The driver of a Ford Fiesta involved was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters.

“The other driver was able to get out of his car, a Toyota Auris, unaided. Both have been taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

“At this stage neither driver is thought to have life-threatening injuries.”
