UPDATE: Horsham Post Office closed for ‘emergency repairs’

A sign appeared in the shop window late this afternoon (Monday March 23) explaining why the store closed suddenly earlier today.

The sign read: “Post Office closed due to emergency repairs. Hopefully open tomorrow. Thank You. Nearest PO Coltsford Drive.”

A spokesperson for the Post Office added: “We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Horsham Post Office. This is due to urgent roof repairs.

“We are working hard to restore services to the area as soon as possible. In the meantime, customers can access Post Office services at any other Post Office branch, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Readers contacted the County Times raising concerns after being unable to access the shop earlier this afternoon.

One reader said: “This lunchtime I have gone to Horsham main post office in the Carfax and the doors are locked, no lights on inside and no notice on the door as to why post office is shut - has the post office gone bust!!”
