The West Sussex County Council vehicle tipped over onto its side at the Moorhead Roundabout on the A264 at 11.40am today (Thursday March 10).

The driver of the six-axle articulated lorry escaped uninjured, but was checked over by paramedics at the scene.

Sussex Police said the road will be closed for four hours from 10pm so the vehicle can be safely removed.

In the meantime, one lane is closed at the roundabout, slowing traffic in the area.

No one was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident involving the heavy goods vehicle carrying ‘non-hazardous’ waste.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said no one was trapped inside the HGV.
