Horsham District Council has expressed its ‘excitement’ following the announcement two property firms will be taking over Piries Place.
The historic Horsham site has been snapped up by property firms Reef Estates and Arcus in a joint acquisition.
Stewart Deering, chief executive of Reef Estates, said the companies were looking to ‘breathe new life’ into the area and were ‘considering’ their options.
Speaking on behalf of the council Gordon Lindsay, cabinet member for local economy, said: “We at HDC are also excited and eagerly await publication of their plans for this important part of the town.”
There has been much speculation about the future of Piries Place after Waitrose left the area almost a year ago.
