UGC Loxwood village celebration

CELEBRATIONS will kick off in the village of Loxwood on Saturday June 16 to mark the 75th anniversary of the North Hall opening.

The exciting event will feature entertainment for all the family as well as introducing an element of competition for everybody.

Splat-the-Rat, Shoot the Clown and Arrow of Destiny are just some of the games to take on.

As well as a barbeque and bar near the bandstand, North Hall itself will be filled will cakes and cream tea.

For the first time for a number of years, we will be holding a varied programme of competitions for children and adults alike, such as photography, handwriting, painting, flower arranging, jam and cake making as well as producing a vegetable person and a miniature garden in a container.

We will have two arenas on the go during the day. The main Arena will host the childrens races, which will feature bean bags, hoops and eggs, as well as the normal flat races. The other activities in this Arena include egg throwing and a Kendo and Zumba demonstrations.

The second Arena will host the family dog show where you can bring along your family pet and enter one of the many classes as well as an obedience demonstration.

This will be an amazing event for all the family. The proceeds of which will be split between the North Hall Refurbishment Fund and Loxwood and Alfold churches as well as one or two other deserving causes in the village. This year we are holding a Grand Draw, which has a first prize of £250, second prize of a meal for two including wine at the Sir Roger Tichborne, third prize of a John Murray ham and many, many more prizes.

Please ensure you get your entry forms in as soon as possible, these can be found in the programme that will be delivered to every household in the village.

We are also looking for a few items to ensure that the day is a success. Have you: old crockery for the China Smash; unwanted books for the Book Stall; could you bake a cake for the Cake Stall; have you any bottles for the tombola?

If you can help in any way, could you please contact either Len Milsom on 752032 or email or Graham Moore on 751722 or email
