Tree brings down village powerline

Firefighters helped to remove a tree after it fell on a village powerline this morning (Wednesday March 2).

Crews were called to the incident in Marlpost, Southwater, near the junction with Bonfire Hill, at 11.15am.

A spokesman for the fire service said no-one was injured and firefighters cordoned off the area.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area
