UPDATE: Driver taken to hospital after A24 crash


A driver was taken to hospital following a collision between two vehicles on the A24 in Horsham on Friday (March 13).

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the crash involved two vehicles in the inside lane of the northbound carriageway just south of Buck Barn crossroads.

One of the vehicles involved was a Vauxhall Astra van, the spokesperson said.

The other was believed to be a Vauxhall Corsa car.

One of the motorists was trapped inside a vehicle. The driver was freed by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment and taken to hospital by ambulance.

The crash happened just before 12.30pm and left the inside lane of the road blocked.

Traffic built up on the road, causing lengthy queues and significant congestion in multiple directions.
