Two black Ford Focuses crashed on a busy stretch of the A27 in Shoreham, causing tailbacks on the westbound section of the highway.
The cars collided between Holmbush and Cloverleaf, on the three lane section just before the Shoreham flyover, at about 1.21pm today (August 6).
Lanes two and three were blocked, with a police spokesman reporting that there were delays to other motorists using the road.
Paramedics were at the scene. However, the police spokesman said: “It does not seem like anyone is seriously injured. It seems like there has been a rear-end shunt.”
The incident has now been cleared and traffic congestion is easing.
